Fathers day in our household is pretty low key since we don’t have kids yet and live no where close to either of our fathers. We were lucky enough to have my parents visit us from Shanghai for a few days this week, which was nice since Friday was also my moms birthday. The hard part about living abroad is missing all the family occasions, so it has been a nice to have them here around this time. Although, given that they do live only a few hours flight away from us we don’t see them nearly enough… the last time was Christmas!
Over on our Mei Li Paperie blog we wanted to celebrate fathers day by featuring Basic Greys new Hipster line which arrived to our shop last month. I fell in love with this line the moment I saw it at CHA and couldn’t wait to play with it. I have a load of layouts planned for it that I have not yet gotten a chance to create… sigh… but it was nice to start it off with a fathers day layout. Here is one of my dad and I circa 1985 when we used to live in British Columbia Canada. I can’t get over my dads moustache and how tiny I am peeking out from the backpack! I shared more of my technique and story over at the Mei Li Paperie blog so you can go have a look and see my business partner Fiona’s fun fathers day layout to.
Wishing you all a wonderful fathers day!
